Special Blood Drives

Brian was in a near-fatal car accident in 2004, requiring 36 blood transfusions and 13 plasma treatments during many operations. Brian died eight times during his miraculous recovery. When he emerged from a medically-induced coma, doctors predicted Brian may never walk again. Today, only five and ½ years after the accident, Brian is a competitive marathoner and Ironman tri-athlete. Brian published a book, Iron Heart, this fall that details his journey back to life. Brian and his story have been featured on numerous local, regional, and national news specials including an NBC special segment at the 2007 Kona Ironman competition and as a special guest on The Ellen Show.
