Give Blood. Save Lives.
The American Red Cross depends on the support of local citizens to maintain a safe and adequate community blood supply for patients in this region. Many of these citizens work for companies that are located near one of our donor centers. Through the American Red Cross - Community Heroes Program, participating local businesses have a unique opportunity to earn community recognition while helping a neighbor in need.
Participate in the BCPL - Community Heroes Program by giving blood at any donor center or blood drive. All BCPL employees who participate in this program will receive a slip for 1 hour off of work.
Schedule your donation appointment by:
- Calling 1-800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543). Platelet donors may call 1-800-272-2123. See listing of local American Red Cross Donor Centers. When you call please mention "BCPL - Community Heroes".

Thank you for your commitment to saving lives in our community by joining the BCPL Community Heroes Program. As you may know, the American Red Cross needs to collect nearly 1000 units of blood every day to meet the community need in this Region. “Everyone Counts” in that effort, including donors, volunteers, our staff, and dedicated Community Heroes like BCPL employees.
